stretching toward the sunlight
tiny leaves unfurl
springtime work and rain
bring about minuscule plants
aching to grow tall
spinach, carrots, beans
planted neatly in their rows
slumber in the soil
weeds pulled up
fertilizer spread around
the work of small hands
excited farmers
shout with glee over their crops
thrilled to see a beet

beets, did you say beets?? that would be my eight year olds favorite vegetable, pickled of course. since he was 3. he can eat a whole quart all by himself.
We are planting our garden this weekend- always a fun time!
Oh, I imagine the kiddos love having a garden.
Also, did your hubby ever admit you were funny?
Nope. He never did. He did admit that I was amusing, so I guess I'll have to take that.
