It occurred to me this afternoon that we don't need any textbooks. All we need is an Animaniacs DVD or, better yet, YouTube. I'm serious here. If your children just memorize these clips they'll have learned a year's worth of info and you can be done with the school year in the first day. Two if they're slow.
Anatomy
U. S. History and Geography
World Geography
World History
English Literature
Health
Math
German
And for Theology....The Simpsons, of course
You're welcome! I'm so glad I could help you out as you prepare for the new year.
The lesson to all of you homeschooling moms? Let the kids watch lots of TV and then send them out to play.

we have the presidents song.
i think we should make up a song to memorize all the books in the REAL bible. all the songs out there are missing a few. ;)
Whoo-hoo! My planning is done!
I LOVE Animaniacs!!
Brilliant! I love the Animaniacs, especially Pinky and the Brain. (Are you pondering what I'm pondering?)
AWESOME! And here I was killing myself with lesson plans...WHAT WAS I THINKING???? All of the wisdom of the world is in Yakko, Wakko and Dot! Duh!!!
LOL
Why didn't they have something like this when we were young? I didn't watch all, but laughed out loud at the president one. I think singing and music makes remembering so much easier. Loved these.
PS: When my daughter was in the 5th grade, she spent the whole school year reading, watching movies, and PBS shows. We'd look up things in the dictionary and encyclopedias and I snuck in a little math here and there. She didn't fall behind at all.
I must be younger than Packrat because the "Animaniacs" were on TV when I was growing up (IIRC I was in middle school).
This is so awesome, I Tweeted it this morning. My TV-loving 9-yr-old will love you.

This could work ...
My daughter in the 6th grade is known for her amazing ability to rattle off memorized lines from movies or shows.
So great...all in one place!
( though they need to update the countries song... There are a few more out there these days)
Add this to schoolhouse rocks and you can pretty much retire :)
