In our never-ending quest to find the cause of my coughing and mouth swelling, my doctor has ordered me to lose wight and follow a restricted diet to see if we can catch the culprit through process of elimination. It sounded like a not-too-tough thing to do until he gave me the list of what I'm allowed to eat. That's right, the not-alloweds are so long that it's easier to tell me what I can eat.
I grimaced a bit, being the foodie that I am but made up my mind that if this was what it took I'd do it. Then he informed me that I'd probably feel like road kill for the next few days as my body got rid of the left over crud I usually eat. What a plan! Eat nothing and feel bad. Why haven't I tried this before? Why don't we all eat this way?
Sure, eventually I'll feel better...blah,blah,blah. I hope I live to see the "feel better" part of this experiment. Today my head feels like it wants to explode. I must be doing something right.

What's on your list of "can eats"?
I hope you stop feeling like roadkill soon. I really do. I can't imagine doing what you are. I'll pray that you figure things out soon.
I cut out the coke this week. Pretty much cold turkey, since we ran out of the icy cold carbonated caffeinated beverages I enjoy so much (don't offer me coffee--nasty nasty stuff!).
I spent two days feeling like death warmed over. Now? Now I want a nap--or a coke. I probably ought to just go out and clean the chicken coop.
Exercise. Fresh air. Sunshine...
And all I wanna do is curl up like a cat on a sunny spot on the carpet and take a nap.
Are eggs on your list of "can haves"?
Yeah, what's on the list?
Also, how is nursing going? Is that going to be okay for sweet little #6?
xox
I do hope this is figured out soon!
Here is our story, which might or might not help. For almost 18 years my daughter was sick all the time. To make a long story short - for one month we kept a detailed list of all the things that went into her mouth. The allergist ran tests (with a simple blood test) on 20-25 of the most consumed items. *Bingo* She is allergic to grapes and anything that has grapes in it or was started from grapes. There are 14 other intolerances. As long as she stays away from those things she stays healthy.
Anyway, that is why I suggested staying away from wine for a little while.
You poor thing. I hope you feel better soon. If you can make it that long.... blah, blah blah:D
I hope you feel better soon too! It seems like it's easier to eat better when it's for our health then when we're just trying to look better! You'll be glad you did this when it's all over. Good luck!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. And I wish you good luck in your elimination diet!
I can feel your pain-- I nursed my youngest for a year on a restricted diet b/c he has food allergies.
Oh my gravy, that year without cheese was almost the end of me.
There were other things I missed as well, but cheese haunted me in my dreams.
Oh wait, I meant this to be encouraging.
So what I wanted to say was: You can do it! It will be worth it!
:)
