I finally found the camera cord. It was being used to tie Barbie to the train tracks so that Thomas the Tank Engine could make her talk. It's that kind of household around here.
Here at last are pictures of the only birthday cake I've ever made that wasn't a disaster:
#4 begged for the pet name her siblings call her (Mei-Mei) instead of her real name to go on her cake. It confirms my theory that you can call children anything you like, but they will ultimately name themselves.
Isn't the inside pretty? It tasted good, too. And just for fun, here's a picture of me with the purple hair. The neighborhood kids have started begging their parents for the same look. "But Mrs Frech has it...." Hee-hee

The cake is beautiful! You rock the purple, too!
Awesome!! All of it- fabulous!!
Great, now I MUST HAVE rainbow cake. It looks so good. Your son really resembles you, especially around the smile! -Loretta
Beautiful Cake!
And an even more Beautiful Mom!
Thank You for Sharing...
I hate making cake. I know I might get kicked out of the Catholic Homeschooling Mom Club for that admission. Cakes annoy me and they are always dry and crumbly. There, I said it. I DO like the looks of the one you picture here, though. I especially like the colored layer look. I think that, if you're going to make a crazy birthday cake, you might as well go totally insane with color classic with the style. I feel the same way about hair. Love it!
Purple hair.
Rainbow Cakes.
If you ask for birkenstocks and wool socks...
Where is LarryD ??
As a cakeaholic, I have to say that I WANT THAT CAKE!!!
The dear Mrs LarryD made me a cake for my birthday - frosted on it a putting green, golf ball and used a candle as the flag stick with the number '45' on the flag. I was moved.
As to the purple hair - awesome!
As to Joe's comment - just don't go hugging any trees or starting a petition to save some animal or something, then we can still be friends, ok?
Boys- No worries. Biskenstocks may be comfy, but they are so ugly..and with socks? Horrors! I'll stick with my sexy stilettos, thank you very much.
Tree hugging? I have a simple environmentalism philosophy. Take care of your space. What kind of person craps in their own back yard?
I'm sure you both can get behind that.
Beautiful cake and beautiful/fun hair!
Barbies have interesting adventures in our house too. My boys have been playing Plants vs Zombies on my phone. I found the girls playing Legos vs Zombies in their room last night using Barbies as the Zombies. Older Barbies make good Zombies
I kept falling out of Birkenstocks. They never worked for me.
LOVED the cake! LOVE IT!!
As for the hair, I'm so jelous! I told Erlend, but...but..."The Mom" has purple hair! So why can't I??
The cake looks great. To bad you used all of the purple dye on your hair, because a purple layer would have looked good.
Purple looks good in your hair.

The cake turned out beautifully! And how do you look so stinkin' young? I'm allowed to hate you a little, right? ;)
Good job, we know you worked hard on the cake. (It's not a phobia, right?)
Don't worry, Joe/LarryD, she not a cake-o-lic.
Love the cake! Love the hair!
