This whole thing is so distressing to me not in small part because I am the mother of a 14 year old girl, the age that the pimp and prostitute in the videos were "managing." I keep imagining my own sweet girl's being stolen from her family, locked in a house, and forced to do disgusting, painful, and awful things just to stay alive. I can imagine her unable to leave her prison except to go to the doctor for the abortion her "managers" force upon her. I can see her in the cold and unwelcoming clinics in these films, facing the militant and angry women who don't even want to help her, but further brutalize her before sending her back to hell. I have a daughter the age of the girls they are willing to help abuse. A girl the age of the children they are unwilling to help and I find it to be deeply and profoundly upsetting.
That is the source of my angst. We are not talking about fictional people to me. We are discussing some other woman's child, her beloved baby.....and no one is coming to save that child. She cries for help and the very people who are legally required to help her and be the key to her rescue are perpetuating the abuse. If you wondered about the source of my passion, there it is.
In the comments of that post (I do have a point here, I promise), Anonymous left a comment that read:
- Hey! Where's your outrage about Fr. Euteneuer? Seems like there's always a sex scandal lurking around the corner these days.....
My dear Anonymous, may I call you Anonymous?, there are several reasons for my previous silence about the issues surrounding Fr Euteneuer. The first, and most relevant, is that I don't watch television and had not heard of it until you brought it to my attention, so thank you for bringing it to my attention.
By the time I began researching the issue, several things had happened:
- Fr Euteneuer had publicly acknowledged guilt.
- He had publicly apologized.
- He had resigned his position.
- He had been dealt with by his superiors.
I would like to point out that what Fr Euteneuer has admitted to doing, while a scandal within the Church, is perfectly legal within the United States. There is no law prohibiting contact between an adult man and an adult woman. While there is Church law prohibiting such contact, it is legal. If you are not Catholic, the behavior of Fr Euteneuer should be of little concern. It is a scandal involving his vow of celibacy. He had what appears to be an emotional affair, but not a physical one, with one consenting adult woman. While it is regrettable, it is far from similar in any way with the aiding and abetting of child abuse which was seen to be going on in Planned Parenhood's clinics. It is an odd comparison to make, wouldn't you agree?
Which places the ball back in your court, Anonymous. What Planned Parenthood has done is well outside of legal activity in the United States of America. They have broken both state and federal laws. Unlike Fr Euteneuer, their behavior is criminal as well as immoral. To further compound their problems, Planned Parenthood has done none of the things in their scandal that Fr Euteneuer has done in his.
- They have not acknowledged guilt, instead they have tried to blame Lila Rose for making them look bad.
- They have not publicly apologized, instead they have stood by their position.
- There have been no resignations of leadership. They fired the office manager in the New Jersey clinic for following what appears to be their procedure, but none of the other employees involved in the 7 videos have been, to the public's knowledge, reprimanded at all. And they should be publicly reprimanded and/or fired for this.
- Planned Parenthood has not been dealt with by their superiors, neither their own hierarchy nor the politicians who fund them.
All over this country, there are girls the age of my daughter who are trapped in the horror of sex slavery and trafficking. They are waiting for someone to speak out for them and to come and save them. The pro-life community is screaming for help for these girls. Why aren't you?

Might I add a #5 reason to be outraged? Planned Parenthood reaceives funding from the Federal government...our tax dollars at work!
OOPs! sloppy typing and failure to read before sending....receives
Michelle, While that is a reason you and I might be outraged, Anonymous doesn't seem to be bothered by the federal funding of abortion. If he/she considers it a right, then he/she will have no problem with federal funding. (Although I did mention it in #4)
AMEN. THANK YOU for writing this. We've been discussing this a lot and it is horrific! And no one seems to care!
Excellent response!!!
Bless you Mom!
for your ability to formulate the words so profoundly and express them so charitably.
I appreciate you!
I just don't get it...and have a difficult time being so charitable in my response. Working on it...
Tis a Brave New World.

Dang straight.
Ditto with that open serial killer abortionist--my girl just turned one in November, and we have another little one on the way.
Well said! Thank you for being very clear about where you stand. I appreciate your honesty very much and like you, am disgusted at the way this situation is being handled.
God Bless!
Go Mom Go!
To be clear, I am outraged as the next mom of any 14 yr old over this Planned Parenthood assistance to child sex traffickers.
That being said, I am also very outraged over the Fr. Euteneuer story. It is not the story of a priest "falling" into consensual sex with an adult woman. It is the story of a priest taking advantage of a mentally disturbed, possibly truly possessed woman. If he were a therapist or a doctor, yes, this is illegal behavior. It is assault, and he would lose his license over it i a heartbeat.
He did not resign of his own accord. He was asked to step down when women started complaining about his egregious behavior to HLI. It seems logical to assume that had nobody complained, he would still be doing it. When he did resign, he wrote about being a soldier of God, practicing the virtue of obedience to his Bishop, and being "completely at peace" with everything he had accomplished at HLI. Now we know it was actually a very dishonorable discharge that was initiated by complaints against him, not by his own remorse. When he did apologize, he lashed out at those who had called him out. A holy man would thank those who called him out for being a fraud, because in the end, they are the ones who will do more good for his soul than those who continue to flatter, adulate, and minimize what Fr. Euteneuer has done.
Planned Parenthood is a hypocritical scam of an outfit. I honestly believe when the whole story comes out about Fr. Euteneuer (I hope I am wrong, truly,), it will also be revealed he was a hypocritical scam using his power over disturbed souls as an exorcist to commit assaults. I expect much more of a man who has been ordained and given the power to bring Christ himself down to the altar than I do a government based organization.
That said, I hope those within Planned Parenthood who have been aiding sex traffickers (and that's probably a large number of PP employees) are arrested and have to face justice for it. One can always hope, right?
AGREE 100%, Mom. A person would have to have an agenda against the Church and priests in general to even think to compare the aiding of sex traffickers with what Fr. Euteneuer may or may not have done. Personally, Fr.'s behavior is a matter between him and his confessors and if we even try to get involved and 'figure out' what happened we are causing even more scandal and possibly committing the sin of calumny. -Loretta
It is an outrage for sure. To be fair, besides firing the woman in this video, they also have now required additional training for every Planned Parenthood employee regarding human trafficking and legal issues, though IMO even though it is good that they at least made some changes, their actions are too little, too late (though I am biased in that I don't like the organization anyways!).
Well, said! To compare the two situations is not rational.
Surely anonymous knows (if that is she, above) that when a priest is doing exorcist work, the devil is tryin to bring down the priest. He is the target. It appears in this case that the devil won a round.
I would ask anonymous, Do you pray regularly for priests?
Sorry for the typos!!! I have $5 fake nails on for an event tonight and clearly I cannot type!
Illegal and immoral activities happen at PP, The Catholic Church, and in the rest of the world. There is plenty to point fingers at all around and ask "Where is the outrage?" Just because this blogger picks the PP story doesn't mean she has to call out every other circumstance of illegal and immoral activity.
Anonymous, I'll throw my 2 cents into the ring.
I neither love nor hate Fr. Euteneuer, so my reactions to his dismissal is not colored by any emotion.
The guy violated his vow of chastity (apparently NOT by sex), lost his job(s), repented, apologized, and is under obedience to his bishop.
Done. There is nothing left to say, except to express disappointment and chagrin. Public flayings increase the scandal.
Do I think the guy is a hero or a saint? No, but the fact that he is obedient to his bishop ends the matter for me. Fr. Euteneuer has surrendered himself to his superior and the matter rests there.
As a cleric, there is nothing further he CAN do on his own. It is now up to the bishop to ensure appropriate justice and/or reparations -- it will not be in public.
Prayers for all involved.
