Want To Freak Out The Nurse At Your OB's Office?

When you call in to talk to the doctor and the nurse says, "If you want, you can come in so she can check and see how dilated you are."

Reply, "Oh, I already did.  I'm an easy 3."

The stunned silence is very reassuring.

HAHAHAHA! I did this to my doctor last week. "Can cou check my cervix for me? It felt very softened to me when I checked it and I'm not sure that's normal for 34 weeks..." *jaw drop*

So glad I'm not the only one checking myself out... !!!

So excited for you.

Um . . .
Do you learn to do this yourself from practicing NFP?
You're serious, right?

Well, I hope you post pictures of your new baby when she gets here. Hope you have a safe delivery and all is well.

Uh . . . do I want to ask how you did that? I thought your baby belly would get in the way. . . I'm thinking . . .

I think I'll go read a book now.

I did that with my second. My midwife said asked if I wanted to know how dilated I was, and I said, "Oh, I'm about 2 and 50-60% effaced, but you can check for yourself if you want." She did and I was right. :D I was so proud of myself. The day I went into labour, I took myself to the hospital at 5cm. Checking yourself for dilation is such a handy-dandy skill.

That's impressive... Not that you can check your own cervix, but that you can reach it when you're 9 months pregnant. You're way more flexible than me!
