Her Prayer

This evening, I was working with #4 on the last of her First Communion paperwork.  Her final activity was to write a prayer to Jesus.  It was obvious from the instructions given that it was to be a prayer of Thanksgiving for the Eucharist and for the sacrament she is preparing to receive.  She decided not to.  Instead she wrote

"Dear Jesus,
Please heal me.  My leg and stomac hurt and I am tired.  You can do it.  I no you can."

And the people say "Amen."

My heart just broke a little. I'm so sorry #4, I know it's hard. Some day, I promise you'll find something about this to be thankful for! Some day you'll look back and think, "THAT's why I got arthritis... okay, then NOW you can cure me..." and he probably wont because you're not done learning yet. Sometimes, especially during Lent, when I'm having a hard time going up a hill or something, that I can see our Lord carrying his cross right next to me. It helps me remember that he definitely knows how hard it can be to take a short walk.
