Summer has almost arrived at our house, and with it comes the annual tiny toad invasion. At this moment, five of my children are scouring the back yard looking for them. They're little guys, no bigger than a quarter, but there are a lot of them. As in even the Bible people would be saying "Wow. That's a lot of toads." The last report brought to me by my 5 year old was that they'd caught 16 this morning. yippee.It will make for a bloodbath come Saturday's lawn mowing. The toads may be tiny, and they may be cute, but they aren't smart enough to get out of the way of a weed eater. We may need therapy by August.

Know what tiny toads bring with them? Things that eat tiny toads.....like snakes.Sunday morning, there was a 2 footer on our back patio. Thank goodness #2 is a boy scout. He looked at our visitor and said "He's not venomous. His head isn't triangular. Also mom, he's dead. Snakes don't lie on their backs." Hooray!

Cousin, I fear it is my solemn duty to warn you about your #7. ou see I, too, was crawling at 5 1/2 months. Then, I was running (not walking) at 8 months. I never slowed down, and my reign of terror only progressed from there. Watch out, that boy's got Hoelscher genes.
Maybe the snake ate too many toads?

What is it about toads - such a fine line between them being so cute or so gross. The lawn mower blood bath situation definitely puts em into the gross category.
I'm glad we have nothing worse than slugs here.
I remember collecting the tiny toads when I was a little girl in Texas. After I collected them I let them loose on our apartment balcony.
Doomed! I am sure that that is the word you are looking for. Actually with your fancy dictionary skills, you probably have a fancier word but my oldest son walked early and I don't wish that on anyone. One of your older kids chores may soon be keeping the baby from killing himself.
